The Phoenix Rises Again......

             Another great BB show at another great Rock and Blues. Two low bass players, three dancers, brilliant sunshine and probably the biggest crowd of the weekend for Platform 15.

             All proceeded by an excellent set from Metropolis, sounding a little punchier than usual on the day.

             First picture shows Mike heading off for one of his audience strolls for possible the last time. Pentrich was Mike's last scheduled show with BB, as he heads off to pastures new with "Engraved In Blood". So Thanks again to Mike for well over a century of gigs and all the best with the new project.

            Not to rule out a guest return, should the stars align.

            So in with the new and Molly taking some of the low bass duties on Saturday as well as throwing some dance moves alongside Rachel and Tasha.

          Two upcoming gigs this weekend. Not far to move The BB Mobile on Friday as the venue is The George and Dragon, Bridge Street in Belper. It was a really big turnout last visit. So a first chance for one of BB's home crowds to catch Molly.

          A Saturday outing to The Workhouse at Llanflyllin, Powys, scene of a great gig last year at "The Phoenix" festival, born from the ashes at the eleventh hour, through Dale's endeavours, after a previously booked event was cancelled late.

          With another decent weather forecast in the offing, a chance to catch BB in a splendid and historic venue set in fabulous scenery. Camping or a place in the bunkhouse available with prior booking.

        Llanfyllin is about equidistant from Oswestry and Welshpool. Trains run to Welshpool and a limited Tanat Valley bus service 76 runs up to the village every day apart from Sunday.

        Back on the subject of travel, looking ahead to The Reloaded Festival in Bad Segeberg, these appear to be the options for travel from the UK. Not too many flights direct to Hamburg. Easyjet from Manchester looks the best option. Can be done Friday outwards, Monday return for about £110 currently.

        Since that still leaves getting to and from Manchester and Hamburg, maybe the best bet is Eurolines coach service £123 Lubeck return from London with a £15 National Express add on from your local departure point. For a cheap trip, this also holds the added advantage of sleeping overnight on the coach( if you have the ability to sleep on coaches!).

       Trains are possible, Eurostar to Paris, Paris-Est to Hamburg, onwards to Lubeck. Looks like £300 of anybody's money though.

       Local bus 7650 from Lubeck bus station, adjacent to the rail station to Bad Segeberg about 45 minutes.

       Some nice looking accommodation in the town, available on Trip Advisor starting around £50.

    Hope you managed to catch Dale's slot on vbnavradio last night, a really good relaxed interview, interspersed with a good helping of classic and new BB tunes.   So Thanks to vbnavradio for that. And Life Goes On (You Know It Aint Easy)

      Well firstly, wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year, a year bereft of Olympics or Jubilees, how will we fill our days? I feel sure we will all cope. It already looks a great year for live music events on varying scales of grandeuer, lets hope the weather has made a resolution,to smile a little more.       February brings us the Year Of The Snake, indeed to be precise, The Water Snake, noted as quite motivated and intellectual, very determined and resolute about success. So here's to hoping.       One last mention of snakes, this time in human form, to those who saw fit in the early hours of Saturday the 22nd of December, to break into the BB mobile and remove all from within. Two drum kits, the basses, sound system, even the songbook, Demolitia's personnal dance items, merchandising and more. School's Out For Summer!

             Oh Yes, it's time for that institution known simply as "Rock and Blues". It has been around in a few different guises for over a quarter of a century now. Reaching it's zenith in the early part of this new millennium when numbers were around the 30,000 mark.            This years event will see only about 10% of those crowd figures, which going by last year's event makes for a nice compact site and a great friendly atmosphere. Another plus is that the Derbyshire weather looks set to make it even hotter than last year.            BB's slot is on The Platform 15 outdoor stage at 1.40pm on the Saturday afternoon and will involve dancers. Metropolis are also forming part of this Steampunk slot.
