One Man Went To Mow!

And that man is BB's very own Dale Rowles, who will be playing a solo slot from four until six, this Sunday afternoon, July 14th, at The Barley Mow in Bonsall, Derbyshire.

BB will not now be playing The Steamboat at Trent Lock on Saturday the 13th.

Yes, Dale undertaking a solo performance, the first of what is set to become a fairly regular gig at the excellent Barley Mow. The pub is reaching almost legendary status locally, for many reasons and not the least of them, it's superb local real ales, which rather splendidly are available at £2.50 a pint during the period of the gig.

The pub really is a hidden gem, sitting in a small valley, behind Matlock Bath. No public transport on Sunday, with the weather set fair for the area however, a walk up from The Derwent Valley is quite do-able from Matlock, Cromford or a little steeper Matlock Bath.

As mentioned last week, a show on Saturday the 20th at The Black Market in Market Warsop has now been arranged. This now takes on added significance, since it becomes Mike's last home town gig with the band.

Mike has announced that he will leaving BB, although he will be easing his way out over the next month or so. Mike is to join "Engraved In Blood" a Notts. based Death Metal band, which is, as you may or may not know, Mike's preferred genre.

So, all the very best to Mike in his new direction and many thanks for the contribution to BB.

What is BB's evolution from here on then, I hear you cry.

Well a seamless transition, as Molly May Hooper, takes the reins. Some of you may already have caught Molly live with BB at Doncaster or Hartlepool back in June, when Mike was indisposed.

Molly also shared bass duties with Mike at "Sonic Rock Solstice" as well as dancing along with Rachel Hanson who was on debut.

As if by magic, you can see a large part of "The Sonic Rock" show by following this link.

Really worth a look. Some of the best footage to date. Also includes the "Age Of Steam" collaboration with the marvellous Montage Jaques Fromage.

Thanks to Karin van Woerden of LuneCat films for producing the videos.

Karin is now moving on to the editing of the video shot around Belper Lane End last month.
 The one featuring many Steampunks.

Work also continues on readying the No. 2 album release, so we should be looking at some firm premieres and launch party dates in the near future.

Talking nearer future a mention of "The Rock and Blues, Old School Weekender" on the last weekend of the month. BB set to play Saturday afternoon, similar to last year. One change this year though, they will be joined on The Steampunk slot by the meritorious Metropolis.
