Days Of Future Past


      

       Just a brief one this week. Will give an update of how the recording is going next week.

       Apparently everything is moving on at pace, although the only current evidence are the pictures,showing that they are thoroughly enjoying playing in the snow!

      Just take the opportunity for you to check your diaries, maps and bank accounts, to see where you like to be in this forthcoming (hopefully fantastically hot and sunny) spring and summer.

      The early dates for "Day Of The Dog" at The Fishpond in Matlock Bath, April 13th. "Aethercircus", Stade, weekend of May the 3rd and "Steampunks In Springtime, Looe in Cornwall on the 10th are covered in last week's blog.

      Following on from  Saturday the 18th May, there it is "The Frome Steampunk Extravaganza" a new event at the town's "Cheese and Grain" venue. http://en-gb.facebook.com/events/345628642199879/?ref=3&suggestsessionid=01357713133.

     The same weekend BB are lined up for Sunday at "Bearded Theory" Festival, a three day event set in the majestic surrounds of Kedleston Hall, just outside Derby. http://www.beardedtheory.co.uk/.

     The weekend after that, Bank Holiday weekend in The UK, another big festival appearance at Glastonbudget, Wymeswold, Leicestershire. http://www.glastonbudget.org/.

      Into June and Sunday the 16th June leads BB to Hartlepool for an interesting looking Steampunk event "Tiffin On Trinc" with the 19th century frigate HMS Trincomalee as it's centrpiece. http://www.stallfinder.com/event/tiffin-on-the-trinc/18334/


     Another 3 day festival beckons June 21st-23rd at picturesque Bulith Wells in the form of "Sonic Rock Solstice" http://www.sonicrocksolstice.com/.

    The last weekend in June it is back to the magical Matlock Bath in Derbyshire for the "The Steampunk Solstice"      http://www.facebook.com/BBBLACKDOG?ref=ts&fref=ts#!/events/210485509093484/.

     Beyond that BB are part of the plans coming together for "Rock And Blues" at Pentrich, Derbyshire on the 25th to 27th of July and August 3rd/4th at The Workhouse at Llanfylin, mid Wales.

  Leaping way into the future "Altfest" new on the scene for 2014, has just secured some major funding and looks a promising event with it's seven arenas including "The Steampunk Experience" and headliners still to be announced. The venue is now set though at Boughton House near Kettering, Northants.

    Hope you managed to catch Dale's slot on vbnavradio last night, a really good relaxed interview, interspersed with a good helping of classic and new BB tunes.   So Thanks to vbnavradio for that. And Life Goes On (You Know It Aint Easy)

      Well firstly, wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year, a year bereft of Olympics or Jubilees, how will we fill our days? I feel sure we will all cope. It already looks a great year for live music events on varying scales of grandeuer, lets hope the weather has made a resolution,to smile a little more.       February brings us the Year Of The Snake, indeed to be precise, The Water Snake, noted as quite motivated and intellectual, very determined and resolute about success. So here's to hoping.       One last mention of snakes, this time in human form, to those who saw fit in the early hours of Saturday the 22nd of December, to break into the BB mobile and remove all from within. Two drum kits, the basses, sound system, even the songbook, Demolitia's personnal dance items, merchandising and more. School's Out For Summer!

             Oh Yes, it's time for that institution known simply as "Rock and Blues". It has been around in a few different guises for over a quarter of a century now. Reaching it's zenith in the early part of this new millennium when numbers were around the 30,000 mark.            This years event will see only about 10% of those crowd figures, which going by last year's event makes for a nice compact site and a great friendly atmosphere. Another plus is that the Derbyshire weather looks set to make it even hotter than last year.            BB's slot is on The Platform 15 outdoor stage at 1.40pm on the Saturday afternoon and will involve dancers. Metropolis are also forming part of this Steampunk slot.
