At A Journey's End The Phoenix Rises Eternal!



     PHOENIX RISING AT THE WORKHOUSE LLANFYLLIN AUGUST 24TH/25TH

    Just a quick blog this week, to get the good news out.

    Well much as been aired over the last week or so relating to the rather ill fated "A Journey Into Steampunk" and without entering into the politics involved, the event was pulled yesterday by it's organisers...........

    Now the good news........Same time, same place "Phoenix Rising".

    What a wonderful testament to the spirit involved within the Steampunk community  and especially to Dale from throwing himself into the organising at the eleventh hour and fifty ninth minute.

    Massive thanks already to Gladstone, Birthrite, Montague Jaques Fromage III, Poisoned Electric Head and the DJs who like BB Blackdog, Demolitia Tribal et al in performing for free.

    After drawing breath on Sunday morning it,s a rush back to Derbyshire where they are performing at another splendid looking new event "Matlock Madness" a three day biker orientated festival for the bank holiday weekend see http://www.matlock-events.co.uk/ for full details.

    And just a quick mention, if you really enjoy it all on Monday or heaven forbid miss it, there is another appearance in "Chesvegas" on Thursday, when the venue is The Chesterfield Arms on Newbold Road.

    Hope you managed to catch Dale's slot on vbnavradio last night, a really good relaxed interview, interspersed with a good helping of classic and new BB tunes.   So Thanks to vbnavradio for that. School's Out For Summer!

             Oh Yes, it's time for that institution known simply as "Rock and Blues". It has been around in a few different guises for over a quarter of a century now. Reaching it's zenith in the early part of this new millennium when numbers were around the 30,000 mark.            This years event will see only about 10% of those crowd figures, which going by last year's event makes for a nice compact site and a great friendly atmosphere. Another plus is that the Derbyshire weather looks set to make it even hotter than last year.            BB's slot is on The Platform 15 outdoor stage at 1.40pm on the Saturday afternoon and will involve dancers. Metropolis are also forming part of this Steampunk slot. And Life Goes On (You Know It Aint Easy)

      Well firstly, wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year, a year bereft of Olympics or Jubilees, how will we fill our days? I feel sure we will all cope. It already looks a great year for live music events on varying scales of grandeuer, lets hope the weather has made a resolution,to smile a little more.       February brings us the Year Of The Snake, indeed to be precise, The Water Snake, noted as quite motivated and intellectual, very determined and resolute about success. So here's to hoping.       One last mention of snakes, this time in human form, to those who saw fit in the early hours of Saturday the 22nd of December, to break into the BB mobile and remove all from within. Two drum kits, the basses, sound system, even the songbook, Demolitia's personnal dance items, merchandising and more.
